Stargate Los Angeles Convention Site Launched

Below is information about the official Stargate convention in Los Angeles, hosted by Creation Entertainment:

The 2009 Official STARGATE SG-1/ALANTIS/UNIVERSE Convention was a unique smashing success: wonderful guests and fans having a blast over the weekend. Thanks to all who made the weekend so special! Of all the Stargate events we do, the Los Angeles one is the place with the most intimate theatre and most interaction with the stars and this year was no exception.

Today we are happy to announce the launching of the 2010 Los Angeles Official STARGATE SG-1/ATLANTIS/UNIVERSE Convention (November 5-7, 2010) site where we also have some cool photos taken at the 2009 convention.

CAN AM Comics and Anime Expo is Cancelled

Please see the below press release concerning CAN AM Comics and Anime Expo:

RAS Management (Div. of The Pinehurst Management Group Ltd.) has Announced that the CAN AM Comics and Anime Expo, scheduled for March 12-14, 2010 at the Skylon Tower Niagara Falls, Ontario has been postponed for approximately six months.

Lack of exhibitors willing to commit to the event in a timely fashion was cited as the main reason for the action.  ” Without knowing that we have an exhibitor base in place, it is not possible to do a proper job of  marketing and promoting the event.  We need to commit to media plans for things like television and radio as well as other venues to ensure that the show would be successful for the participants.  There was a good deal of interest in the event, in fact the shows website has had over 110,000 hits already.  The response from University Anime clubs to the Forum Contest was non existent.” said show organizer Bob Sinclair, “but once we opened it up to individual presenters interest in the $1,000 first prize began to build.”

“Our change of topics from anime to comics and anime resulted in us having A nearly conflicting date with not just one Anime show but a very prestigious comic book event as well made the organization harder not just for the the organizers, but for all the exhibitors as well. We will find a new date that is more suitable and try and have our sales kits out in the street within the next two or three weeks,” promises Sinclair.

[Valley Forge, PA] The National Halloween, Horror, Haunted House and Hearse Convention (N.H4.C) and Canadian Haunters Convention (CHC) made an historic announcement today regarding a partnership forged between the two groups that they say will change the landscape of the haunting scene in North America in 2010 and beyond.

“In order to remain competitive, innovative, and cutting edge, Haunters Conventions can no longer be considered regional in an ever changing business landscape” stated Rob Kocher of the N.H4.C. “We have to consider economies of scale, as well as realize that the big boys in the supplier trades have already adapted their businesses to be International in scope”.

Our favorite BEN BROWDER has tentatively agreed to headline and he is AWESOME!

Check out some cool pics from the 2009 event, and also note that top of the line GOLD WEEKEND PACKAGES are now available!

And some great news: The 2010 Convention will take place at the same time/same location as TWO other Creation events: The Official STARGATE Convention and Creation’s Salute to FIREFLY, BUFFY & ANGEL, & DOLLHOUSE. Three times the guests, three times the fans, three times the entertainment!
Gold Weekend Patrons from Farscape can go for FREE (space permitting in General Admission section) to see the other two conventions and this worked out wonderfully in 2009 (where we also had the Stargate event simultaneously).
