Published by dreadpiraterose at 4:00 am under Upcoming Conventions Edit This

Michael Shanks to attend 2010 Stargate Chicago ConventionOn Friday, Creation Entertainment officially announced their Stargate SG-1 / Atlantis / Universe Chicago Convention for 2010. It is happening August 27-29 at the Westin O’Hare Hotel.

Despite being so far out, they do have two guests already lined up: Michael Shanks and David Hewlett. Michael Shanks played Dr. Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1, and David Hewlett played Dr. Rodney McKay on Stargate Atlantis. Michael is appearing on Saturday, and David is appearing on Sunday. You can expect a lot more guests to be announced over the course of the next few months, as Creation conventions usually have about a dozen. Of course, guests lists are always subject to change, especially this far out.

Right now, only the Gold Weekend Package tickets are available. Creation’s standard practice is to release the Gold Weekend tickets first, and only offer the cheaper tickets as the convention draws closer. What does a Gold Weekend ticket get you?

  • reserved seating for daytime convention main events
  • free in-person non-rushed autographs from celebrities in attendance
  • free entry to the dessert party on Saturday (which is attended by celebrities)
  • complimentary admission and same “great” seating for the Stargate Celebrity Cabaret scheduled for Friday night
  • complimentary admission into the Sunday morning breakfast and charity silent auction
  • complimentary Stargate gift

This package costs $389, and can be purchased now.

Be sure to stay tuned for more information, as guests are announced and new ticket packages are released.
