The King and Queen of Geekdom - Together at Phoenix Comicon 2010

Published by dreadpiraterose at 4:22 am under Upcoming Conventions Edit This

Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton

In my geeky universe, Wil Wheaton is the King of Geekdom, and Felicia Day is its Queen. And I have met neither one of them yet, sadly. (I missed my chance at Dragon*con 2009 to see Felicia, but will hopefully be making it up at Farpoint Con). In case you don’t know who these two amazing individuals are, Wil Wheaton is a noted author and blogger, who also happened to appear in this show called Star Trek: The Next Generation. Felicia Day is the creator and star of the incredible webseries The Guild (and she also was part of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog). Anyway…

Felicia and Will are both appearing at Phoenix Comicon, which is happening May 27 - 30, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix. The Phoenix Comicon guest rate is $119 a night for single/double occupancy, $144 for triple, and $169 for quadruple. You can call 888-421-1442 and mention the Phoenix Comicon to receive the group rate.

Other guests for this convention include: Stephanie Sheh, Tristen Citrine, John Scalzi, Leanna Renee Hieber, B. Clay Moore, Brian Haberlin, Dexter Vines, Jamal Igle, Jim Steranko, Mike Bullock, Peter Gross, Gary Lockwood, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, and more!

Tickets are currently on sale. In fact, there is a special deal happening from now until December 31st. If you buy your ticket before then, it’s just $25. A full event membership from January 1st, 2010 to May 26th, 2010 is $30. Memberships at the door are $35. Children 12 and under get in for free with a paid adult. That is super cheap for a convention with a guest list that great.

Last year I wished I could go to this con, and this year I REALLY wish I could go. (Anyone want to fly a desperate fan girl to Phoenix?)

That’s a Steam Crow print in Wil’s hands. Right on Daniel Davis. ;)

So stoked for PHX2010, always a great con and this year it’s in a new, bigger venue! Last year was fantastically awesome, and I have no doubt that they will heartily fill the new, larger space with goodness.

Also, that art Wil Wheaton is posing with looks familiar … why yes, that’s from Phoenix artist Daniel Davis of Monster Commute, who will also be coming out for the convention.
