Cons from A to Z: Z is for Zenkaikon and ZONA CON
Hello convention fans! It’s time for the 23rd, and final, installment of the Cons from A to Z series! As you know, I have been working with fellow con-goer Nathan Lilly, who is the man behind the Green Tentacles Convention Finder website, to bring you this informative series of articles.
If you want to find a convention that is near you, Nathan’s Con Finder website offers searches via zip code and content tags (such as “space western”), so it is easy to find a convention nearby that fits you, which is why he’s been the best partner for this series. Together, Nathan and I brought you “Cons from A to Z” which went through the entire alphabet and highlight a handful of conventions for each letter. And the letter for today is “Z”:

ZonaCon is a convention where “anime meets horror”. Events include panel discussions, a murder mystery, zombie vs. hunter wars, a fashion show, cosplay improv, a cosplay contest, a scream contest, a showing of REPO! the Genetic Opera with a shadow cast, and more! A weekend pass is $35.00 plus tax if you buy before October 31, 2009.

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the listing!
I just wanted to note a quick correction. Pre-registration for Zenkaikon is available online until November 4th, but the last day to pre-register at a discounted rate was actually October 6th.
We still recommend that folks pre-register though. Check-in at the con will be faster, and pre-registered attendees will be able to check in an hour earlier than at-the-door registrants.
I look forward to seeing you at Zenkaikon
This show is a scam. They NEVER had any of the ROTLD guests signed but advertised them anyway. Now last minute they’re all “cancelled” to screw fans out of their $$.
They are now harassing Beverly Randolph and Tuesday Knight.
Horror fans should Boycott this show.
Read ZonaCon’s own Myspace blog about pantless men, heroin addicts and people having sex with minors at their show:

Stay FAR away.
