Creation’s Salute to Supernatural Convention - Jared and Jensen are Attending!
Creation Entertainment, known mostly for it’s Star Trek and Twilight conventions, also hosts an annual “Salute to Supernatural” convention. The con is being held November 13 - 15th, 2009 at the Wyndham Chicago O’Hare in Chicago, Illinois. It not only has a lot of the supporting actors and actresses from the show scheduled to attend, but it also has Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki on the guest list!
Needless to say, considering Jensen and Jared are coming, this convention is virtually sold out. The three biggest tickets packages are all gone at this point, but single day tickets for Friday and Saturday are still available for $40 and $50 respectively. But of course, Jensen and Jared will only be there on Sunday, and that is the day that is sold out.
Also sold out are the autograph tickets for the duo, and the photo ops. Unbelievably, Jared and Jensen were charging $80 a piece for their photo op - the same price William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy were charging at Dragon*con. And Creation sold out of the tickets. Sold out $80 a piece photo ops for these kids! It absolutely boggles my mind how two guys from a WB show that’s only been on the air since 2005 can charge the same prices as Shatner and Nimoy, who have 40+ years under their belt with their franchise. Even worse is that so many people were willing to pay that exorbitant price that they sold out!

Some of the planned activities for this “Salute to Supernatural” convention include a concert with Steve Carlson, a wine and cheese party with Jim Beaver, a karaoke night, a Supernatural music video contest, a costume parade, and of course some panels/Q&As with the stars. Please note that some of these events cost extra.
According to Creation’s website, there are possibly still rooms available at the host hotel. Rooms are $113 a night. Call 1-847-297-1234 for reservations.
If you have your heart set on attending a Supernatural convention, I recommend signing up for the e-mail alerts on Creation’s website, so you can find out about their 2010 convention as soon as details are announced. Looks like 2009 will be a complete sell out.
$80 for a picture is a lot, but heck their autographs alone are $60 each.
I’d love to go to an even like this, but frankly I just can’t afford Creation Entertainment’s prices.
