Cons from A to Z: X and Y are for Xanadu Las Vegas, Yasumicon, and YuleCon
Hello convention fans! It’s time for the 22nd installment of the Cons from A to Z series! As you know, I have been working with fellow con-goer Nathan Lilly, who is the man behind the Green Tentacles Convention Finder website, to bring you this informative series of articles.
If you want to find a convention that is near you, Nathan’s Con Finder website offers searches via zip code and content tags (such as “victoriana”), so it is easy to find a convention nearby that fits you, which is why he’s the best partner for this series. Together, Nathan and I will be bringing you “Cons from A to Z” which will go through the entire alphabet and highlight a handful of conventions for each letter. This is a great way to bring some attention to some of the more unique conventions out there. And the letters for today are “X” and “Y”:

Yasumicon is back for its 8th year and things could not be better! This year’s theme is “8-Bit.” Yasumicon is Florida’s largest free Anime convention and it is made possible through the generous funding from the Council for Student Organizations and the Student Government Association of Florida International University as well as every single vendor who chooses to attend Yasumicon each year.

This year’s YuleCon dates and venue have changed to November 20-22, 2009, and will be at the Radisson Hotel Fort Worth North-Fossil Creek. The original dates were scheduled for December. Guests include Hannah Alcorn, Chris Ayres, Clarine Harp, Josh Grelle, Carli Mosier, and Chris Patton. Tickets are $30 for the weekend if purchased in advance, and $40 at the door.
