Con Vids: Great YouTube Videos from Dragon*con 2009
Now that Dragon*con is almost two full weeks behind us, a lot of great videos from the convention are being posted to YouTube. I’ve already posted links to the full Nimoy/Shatner panel videos, and video from the World Record Thriller attempt, but there are plenty more great videos from the convention that deserved to be mentioned!
The first video I wanted to post comes from YouTube user jkgvader. In honor of the aforementioned Thriller attempt, jkgvader and her friends filmed a “Star Wars Thriller” video. What they created was an endearing parody of the original musical video, which also showcases a lot of different Dragon*con attendees demonstrating their Michael Jackson moves. You’ll see appearances by stormtroopers, Quidditch players, and Abe T. Alien, just to name a few. It starts off a little slow, but the I thought the overall video was funny and well done.

The next video was actually filmed before Dragon*con. A family of cardboard stormtroopers arrive in a Atlanta a wee bit early, and to their surprise, they can’t seemed to find Dragon*con anywhere!

YouTube user cloudyvisions has great videos from a lot of the celebrity panels at Dragon*con, including the Felicia Day, Kristy Swanson, Julie Benz, and Charisma Carpenter panel, the Tom Felton panel, and one of the Leonard Nimoy panels. The video below is Part 1 from the Felicia Day, Kristy Swanson, Julie Benz, and Charisma Carpenter panel, which I chose because of my absolute love for Felicia Day. In this video, Felicia tells the story of a spider bite that required the attention of a “set doctor” to come look at.

Speaking of Felicia Day, this next video is from her panel on The Guild. It was posted by YouTube user ClydeFrog1234. The video isn’t the best quality, but the audio is good. In this first part, which is what is posted below, Felicia discusses the inspiration for her character, Codex, as well as her violin skills, and then a weird guy asks her for her beauty tips…

This final video shows the “craziness” of Dragon*con 2009. And by craziness, we mean drunken escapades and a little T&A. So I wouldn’t watch this one at work boys and girls. But there’s no denying that Dragon*con is one hell of a four day party, which this video demonstrates pretty well.
