Twilight Convention New Jersey: Major Guest Changes for this Weekend’s Con
I just got a notice from Creation Entertainment, who hosts the official Twilight conventions. Their 2009 New Jersey convention is scheduled for this upcoming weekend, but “due to the shooting of Eclipse we’ve had a great number of guest cancellations and changes for this particular convention.” As much as I am not a fan of Creation Entertainment, I can’t place any blame on them in this situation. It sucks, but it happens. It is the nature of media guests who actively work. Just ask Harry Potter fans, they know this all-too-well.
Creation is attempting to compensate attendees by offering a “free hand signed autographed photo from one of the stars who could not attend, yours first come, first choice! You get this when you first come to registration. So, our gold and preferred weekend patrons will end up with eight in-person autographs as well as the fun of the convention!”
The final guest list for Creation’s 2009 New Jersey Twilight convention is as follows:
Catherine Hardwicke (director of Twilight, appearing friday)
Edi Gathegi (Laurent, appearing Saturday and Sunday)
Gil Birmingham (Billy Black, appearing Friday and Saturday). Gil is also appearing in concert at our Friday night performance.
Alex Meraz (The Wolf Pack’s Paul, appearing Saturday and Sunday)
Justin Chon (Eric Yorkie, appearing Sunday)
Kiowa Gordon (Embry Call of The Wolf Pack, appearing Saturday and Sunday)
Chaske Spencer (The Wolf Pack’s Sam Uley)
The Twilighters (appearing Friday evening at the concert)
The Hillywood show (hosting throughout the weekend)
I think they should have found out when Eclipse was filming before they scheduled their convention. Just a though. Of course actors have to cancel, but its going to happen with a lot more volume when they’re all working on the same movie at the same time.
