Hurricane Who 2009 - A Florida Doctor Who Convention
Orlando, Florida never seems to have a shortage of fandom conventions going on! Scheduled for October 30 - November 1, 2009 is Hurricane Who - a Doctor Who convention. It is being held at the Ramada Orlando Celebration Resort & Convention Center.
The guest list for Hurricane Who 2009 currently includes: Gareth David-Lloyd (“Ianto Jones” – Torchwood, Doctor Who), India Fisher (“Charley Pollard”, Big Finish Productions), Tony Lee (Writer, IDW Comics), Tammy Garrison (”Torchwood Babiez” webcomic), Louise Jameson (Actress, Doctor Who Classic Series), Simon Guerrier (Writer “The Pirate Loop,” Big Finish Productions), Rob Shearman (Writer), Toby Hadoke (Comedian, “Moths Ate My Dr Who Scarf”), Jason Haigh-Ellery (Producer, Big Finish Productions), and Colin Spaull (Actor, Doctor Who Classic & New Series).
Weekend and individual day tickets are now available for purchase. A note: children under 5 are free with paid parent. There are tickets available for children 6 to 12. A full weekend adult ticket is $55. A child ticket is $35 for the weekend. Tickets can be purchased using PayPal. (Although the site says one-day tickets are for sale, they don’t appear to be listed as an option…?)
The convention’s staff are currently looking for panelists! Some of the panels currently planned for 2009 include: “Losing a Tennant,” “The 11th Doctor,” “Ms. Smith, We Need You!!,” “Children of Earth,” “Star Trek: Relaunching the Franchise,” and “What should we be watching??” (just to name a few).
