Reminder: Shore Leave 31 Less Than Two Weeks Away!
First of all, I apologize for the lateness of today’s posting. I sort of spent a rather obscene amount of time writing my Sims 3 Legacy Family blog this weekend, and got a little carried away/distracted.
Today’s post is dedicated to Shore Leave 31, which I will be attending! My photographer and I are very excited about the convention and we hope to see some of our readers there (so if you’re going, post a comment!). It has been a while since I attended a dedicated sci-fi con. These days I’m pretty used to the mutli-genre mega-conventions like Dragon*con. It will be nice to head off to a actual sci-fi convention for a weekend, and not be surrounded by 40,000 of my peers.
To refresh your memory: Shore Leave is a fan-run science fiction convention that is taking place at the Marriott’s Hunt Valley Inn, in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 10 - 12th, 2009. The convention is hosted by STAT (The Star Trek Association of Towson, Inc.), and it is one of the largest fan-run science fiction conventions in the United States.
Since we last reported on the convention, some new stars have been added to the guest list: Clifton Collins (Star Trek XI’s Ayel, Nero’s second-in-command), Miracle Laurie (Dollhouse’s Mellie/November), Vanessa Angel (Stargate: SG-1’s Anise/Freya; Weird Science’s Lisa) and Johnathon Schaech (Prom Night’s Richard Fenton; Houdini’s Houdini).
They will be joining Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis), Rachel Luttrell (Stargate: Atlantis), Robert Picardo (Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, Star Trek: Voyager), Ethan Phillips (Star Trek: Voyager), Adrienne Wilkinson (Xena, Angel, Charmed, and more), and Christopher Heyerdahl (Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, Sanctuary), along with over a ton of writers, scientists, and performers. You can see the entire guest list at the official website. (Please note that some guests that were originally reported are no longer on the guest list. Guest lists are always subject to change.)
Preregistration for Shore Leave 31 is no longer available, but registration willbe at the door for $75 for a weekend pass. However, please be advised that at the door registration is limited to 1500!
Hope to see you there!
