Published by dreadpiraterose at 2:14 am under Upcoming Conventions Edit This

LeakyCon 2009Are you looking for a unique Harry Potter convention? Then maybe LeakyCon 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts is a convention right up your Diagon Alley. The convention takes place at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, May 21 - 24, 2009. According to organizers, LeakyCon “is what happens when the best academic minds in the Harry Potter fandom and its most dedicated fans come together to create a canon-centric environment in which all of us can learn, talk, and play.”

LeakyCon is intended for adult Harry Potter fans, but there is some programming for teenagers from 14 to 17, but these teens must have a permission slip signed and notarized by their parents. The regular programming includes debates, workshops, and question/answer sessions. There will also be an art gallery, and some fun “informal” events still to be announced.

Tickets/registration for LeakyCon 2009 will cost $199 for the weekend. There are no single day passes mentioned on the official site. Tickets can be purchased online, at the official LeakyCon website.

The hosting hotel, the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, does have a special convention room rate, which is $189 per night. You can either make reservations online, or by calling 1-617-426-2000. You must mention LeakyCon to get the special rate.

If you attend LeakyCon 2009, be sure to come back and post links to your photos, videos, and convention reports! Interested in other Harry Potter conventions (or cons with HP guests)? Check out our profiles of other conventions!
