Convention Profile: Animation & Gaming Ohio 2009
I received a heads up from one of my readers about a unique little anime convention taking place in Ohio, March 13 - 15, 2009. The convention is called Animation & Gaming (A & G) Ohio, and it is being held at the Holiday Inn Eastgate in Cincinnati.
The convention is offering a free badge with the purchase of a 2-day hotel reservation. You can read more about the hotel and badges on their official website. A room at the con rate costs $93 a night, and a weekend badge (pre-reg) is $25. Badges will be $30 after March 1st, whether you pre-register or buy at the door.
Some activities being held at A & G Ohio are: Cosplay Wrestling (done with an actual wrestling organization), a cosplay musical, Battle of the Rock Bands, Battle Kart (inspired by Mario Kart), a ninja academy (where you get to compete for the title of ninja), boffer combat, a zombie LARP, and Nerf shooting warfare.
The following guests are currently scheduled to appear: Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop), Richard Epcar (Robotech & Ghost in the Shell), Steve Downes (Halo), Ellyn Stern (Robotech & more), Lunarium (musical artist), DM Ashura (musical artist), DJ Greg Zorn (musical artist), Dan Slott (artist), Jackson Ferrell (artist), and Yaya Han (”international cosplay star”). There will also be vendors available for all your merchandise needs.
