Con Vids: Spiner Does His Picard Impression, Stewart Calls Him an Idiot

Published by dreadpiraterose at 7:26 am under Convention Videos Edit This

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to a friend’s place to watch the Superbowl. (Believe it or not we were actually there to watch the game, not just the new Star Trek movie trailer.) We all got to talking about Star Trek, and my friend mentioned that he had seen a very funny video of Brent Spiner (TNG’s Data), interrupting a discussion Patrick Stewart (TNG’s Picard) was having about his upcoming play, Macbeth.

Off I went to YouTube as soon as I got home, hoping to find said video. The first result that came up, although not the Macbeth bit my friend was talking about, was just as funny. This is a short video of Brent Spiner doing his Captain Picard impression, and I have to say, it’s pretty damn good:

But here is the video I was hunting for originally. What happens just before the video starts, is Brent Spiner interrupts Patrick Stewart. Now, Brent has decided to play the role of a “fan” and ask Patrick questions, namely about Stewart’s “severed head” scene from Macbeth. Hilarity ensues.

I’ve had the good fortune to meet Brent Spiner at a convention a few years ago. He’s an odd man, but a very very funny man. And if you have Twitter, you really should be following him (yes, Spiner has a Twitter account). His tweets directed at Wil Wheaton (who also has a Twitter account), are hysterical.

Feel free to share your own Brent Spiner/Patrick Stewart stories in a comment!

You should also mention that Brent Spiner was convinced to join Twitter by LeVar Burton (http://twitter.com/levarburton).
