Convention Profile: The Leap Back 2009
I read about a lot of conventions (obviously), and while there are a few I’d certainly like to attend, nothing has grabbed my attention so far the way The Leap Back 2009 con has. I’m a huge Quantum Leap fan, and although I wasn’t fond of Enterprise, I do adore Scott Bakula. Anyone getting to attend this convention is damn lucky, because not only will Scott Bakula be there, but so will Dean Stockwell. Yep, that’s Sam Beckett and Al. It get’s even better! The guest list for this con is enormous, and includes over 50 different guest stars and writers from the show’s run. You can check out the whole list by clicking here.
The Leap Back 2009 will be taking place March 27 - 29, 2009 in Los Angeles, California, at the The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn. This is actually the convention’s 20th anniversary! The Leap Back 2009 group rate at the hotel is $149.00 per night and you can make your reservations online.
There are a few specific events listed on the website so far, including a Quantum Leap Music Video Contest, a Quantum Leap Novel Authors Panel, the premier of the fan film A Leap To Di For, a Friday Evening Party, and a Saturday Evening Party/Costume Ball. More events will no doubt be added at the convention gets closer. There will also be a dealer’s room and a charity auction.
Although the convention is almost two months away, some of the ticket options are already sold out. The current ticket groups available are the “Gold” and “Silver” options. Gold tickets are $229, and silver tickets are $119. Each one has different levels of access, and you can check out the details here. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like any of them include autographs.
You can read more about the convention, and check out all the details on the guests and events at the convention’s official website.
If you attend, be sure to comment on this entry with your feedback, and if you enjoy this blog, consider subscribing!
