News Blurb: New Cast Announced For “Stargate Universe”
I have to say, I feel for the Stargate fans. For the longest time, they had Stargate SG-1, a nice long series with a fairly stable cast. Then they got Stargate Atlantis, with a new cast and a new take on the classic Stargate. Now they are dealing with the ending of the familiar, and beginning of yet another Stargate series, Starbase Universe, apparently one that is “edgier and younger in tone.”
Yeah, that phrase gives me a bad feeling too. It always does. As a Trekkie, one who suffered through Enterprise, I completely understand your concern Stargate fans. You worry about them tossing a little 7 of 9 style “edgier and younger” change into your beloved franchise. At least Rick Berman hasn’t stepped in to produce it.
I don’t know if this will calm or exacerbate your fears, but a new cast list has been released for Stargate Universe: Justin Louis, David Blue, Brian J. Smith, Jamil Walker Smith, and Robert Carlyle.
David Blue (pictured) has appeared in Ugly Betty. The rest required me to look them up on IMDB.com.

I don’t watch star treck, but it is probably time for a change. They do say a change is good so maybe it isn’t a bad thing, but we can find the positives in it. I appreciate that if you have been a fan for a long time then it will be upsetting and of course it isn’t fair on the actors who have devoted their hard work and time on it.
All the best to you.

Are they really starting production in Feb?? This does not compute…
My hubby and I were fans of SG1 but we only watched off and on for about a year or so. Well, recently we started watching the entire series from from the very beginning - we are partway through Season 4, which means we have a lot more to go, LOL! I will be sad when we finally finish with season 10, because I feel like the four main characters have become good friends, KWIM?
I never did get into Atlantis - I think I only watched one episode. I will have to wait and see what they do with Universe. I have to admit that one of the primary draws for me to the show is Richard Neal Anderson (Jack O’ Neil) so if he’s gone, all of the fun goes out of it too.
Hava
Hate to disappoint you there Hava but O’Neil will leave the series somewhere around 7-8 season and show up as a guest star every now and then
