Matt Smith Announced as the New Doctor Who
It’s official: there is pandemonium in the Doctor Who fandom today. The beloved 10th Doctor, David Tennant, will be replaced by actor Matt Smith, who looks like he belongs in some kind of emo rock band. There’s already a Facebook petition about him. That didn’t take long!
Seriously, where did they find this kid? How can you go from Christopher Eccleston to David Tennant to this guy?
It usually isn’t a good sign for a fandom when you hear things like “As soon as Matt walked through the door, and blew us away with a bold and brand new take on the Time Lord, we knew we had our man.”
Hey Doctor Who fans? Now you know how us Trekkies feel, eh?
I’m not a Doctor Who fan but I feel bad for the franchise anyway. Enterprise might not have been the best thing for Trek, but at least it did have Scott Bakula.
