Robotech Convention Tour Announcement
It is amazing how much conventions have changed since their inception. It used to be a bunch of fans gathered together at a local hotel or small venue. Then you started getting vendors and celebrity guests. Now the industries actually schedule appearances at conventions to make big announcements, debut new product/projects, and meet up with their consumers. It’s brilliant marketing for them, when you think about it. Why spend money on general public advertising when you can promote something directly to your base consumers?
The Robotech franchise has certainly caught on, having just recently announced their 2009 Robotech Convention Tour. Representatives from Robotech will be making appearances at the following conventions in 2009: Anime Los Angeles, New York Comic Con, Animation on Display, Con-Nooga, Naka-Kon, Anime Saint Louis, Emerald City Comicon, Anime Central, Super-Con, Project A-Kon, Anime Expo, Comic Con International, Mecha Con V, Gen-Con, New York Anime Festival, and Zenkaikon.
