Convention Profile: Creation’s Salute to Twilight Convention

Published by dreadpiraterose at 6:41 am under Upcoming Conventions Edit This

Twilight Movie PosterBoy, that was quick! The books have been out less than four years, and the movie has been out less than one year, and there’s already a convention dedicated to Twilight! Creation Entertainment, the convention organizers known for their Star Trek, Stargate, and Xena conventions, is now diving into Twilight fandom. Their “Salute to Twilight” convention is being held in San Francisco, February 20-22, at the Westin San Francisco Market Street hotel.

As usual, Creation conventions are pretty expensive. A Gold Weekend Package ticket will cost you $269, and includes special seating, autographs from select guests, entry to the Vampire Ball, and the promise of getting to avoid some of the waiting time associated with big conventions. The next cheapest is the Preferred Weekend Package, costing $159. This level also includes the autographs and preferred seating. General admission passes cost $54 and include no autographs. For single day admission prices, and for more information, please consult the official website.

Of course, I’m sure what you really want to know is who will be attending. Here is the guest line up: Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen), Kellan Lutz (Emmet Cullen), Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen), and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale). Rathbone will also be appearing with his band, 100Monkeys, as they will be doing a concert performance on Saturday night of the convention. Sorry ladies, at the moment, you-know-who is not scheduled to appear, although Creation’s website says there are “more [guests] to be added.” I wouldn’t hold your breath though.

As mentioned above, there will be a concert by 100Monkeys, as well as a Vampire Ball and a costume contest. A full schedule of events is not yet available. Keep checking back at the official website for schedule updates.

As always, if you attend, be sure to report back with your pictures and feedback!

    @ PamelaM

I’d try LiveJournal, or other Twilight fan communities.
