RIP Majel Barrett Roddenberry
Majel Barrett Roddenberry, widow of Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek’s founder), died today at her home in California. She died from leukemia. Her son, Eugene Roddenberry Jr., was by her side.
This is absolutely heart breaking news. Majel had continued with her husband’s legacy, helping to create shows he had still been working on when he passed away many years ago. She was the iconic voice of the Enterprise computer, Number 1, and Deanna Troi’s mother.
How completely and utterly sad it is to lose her. I feel so bad for her son, and my heart is with him today.

I adored her as Lwaxana. She seemed like a very enthusiastic person.
This is so sad. She was such a wonderful woman.
I’ve met her once at a Scottish fancon and she was such a joy and such a true person.
She will me missed enormously.
She is now with the lord and with her human love Gene. We the fans will miss her beautiful smile and her lovely laugh. We will always have her in our mind and heart as we watch the re-runs.
